This is a recipe I am actually sharing on “Maple and Muffin”‘s blog…but seeing as I love it so much, I couldn’t resist sharing it on here with you all too.
One of the hardest things I’ve found about the recovery journey is eating the snacks. You know they are a part of your meal plan, and you really need the extra calories, but I know when you’ve just started eating three meals a day again, the idea of snacks on top of that can be scary. Also, it’s so difficult to make yourself eat something extra when you’re not necessarily feeling hungry…am I right?
This is why smoothies are great! They are a fantastic, super healthy way of getting those vital extra calories in, without having to worry about actually eating. A lot of people I’ve spoken to have said that having a snack as some form of drink really helps them, so that’s why “Maple and Muffins” and I thought we would share some of our own smoothie recipes with you all.
This is one of my absolute favourites – I went through a stage of having this as my afternoon snack every day. The sweetness from the banana and the delicious chocolate flavour makes it a great little after-dinner snack too! But don’t worry, it’s all totally healthy, and ever so good for you 🙂
- 200ml coconut milk (or milk of choice)
- 6 blackberries
- 1 banana, chopped into slices
- 1 heaped tsp cacao powder
- Pretty simple…place all the ingredients in a blender, and blend until smooth.
Don’t forget to tag me in any recreation photos with #lucysloveoffood. Hope you all love it 🙂
